Charlie Productions : Steadicam

If being a Camera Operator is cool, people can actually fall in love with the Steadicam. A world away from both shaky handheld and restrictive tripods, the steadicam can go anywhere and it looks damn cool when it does.

It also buggers your back up. People stare funny at Max for doing handstands all the time but he needs to keep exercising that body or bad things will happen. It's not quite as easy to use as I'm making out either - to keep the picture level is very hard, and Steadicam Operating is a bit of an artform, which is why there are Steadicam Ops as opposed to strapping it onto the DoP and saying 'get on with it'.
