Charlie Productions : Catering Department
The Blaine Brothers like their food.
Anyone who's witnessed lunchtime on one of our shoots can tell you that.
But it's not just because we love to consume good food that we treasure good catering so much. It's because having good food, regularly, with a decent amount of time to appreciate it, turns you from a grouchy, flagging, grumbler - or worse - into someone who feels good, valued, ready to work.
It's precisely because breakfast, lunch (and dinner if you're shooting late) are entirely down to the people in charge that it becomes a very good way for the cast and crew to judge the entire shoot. Someone who is late with your food, who squeezes your lunch break, who thinks at the last minute about what to get in, who arranges cheap and shitty food - well, what else are they arranging that way? It's far easier to see these things when you get to sit down for an hour than when you're rushing about on set.
That's not to say we've not had bad food on some of our shoots. We have. And we damn well don't want it again. No, especially now we've experience the god-like abilities of one Shelley Squire, who, if we were rich, we would be employing as our personal chef forever more...
