Charlie Productions : Chaperone
Chaperones aren't really in charge of special effects, are they? They're in charge of children...
Well, if the maxim "never work with children and animals" says anything, it's that kids are a special effect. They'll slow your shoot down, they are potentially explosive, they need to be handled with care and plenty of forethought.
It is with this in mind that we salute all the chaperones who've worked with us - especially those who worked on Death Of The Revolution. Why that shoot in particular? Well because we had up to 50 kids on any one day, meaning a whole lot of noise and unruliness, all elements of which we as directors never really saw once in our cosy bubble of the film set.
Because it was the chaperones who made sure the kids were alright, yeah, and made sure they were more than alright when they sat down in the classroom we were filming in, well-behaved, ready to do whatever we asked of them. We merely heard about the pain of looking after the rampaging hordes in the car after each day's shoot. Chaperones, we salute you! Thank you...
