Charlie Productions : Laboratory
Taking it down the lab isn't really as thrilling as in a thriller. There hopefully aren't any dead bodies for a start, and to be honest the only response you ever want to get from a lab is "it's all fine", rather than "he did it".
We haven't used a lab for some time, the last one being Death Of The Revolution, which we shot on S16mm. Since then we've been shooting on digital pretty much all the way. Which in one way is a shame - I've always loved the smells of the photographic chemicals, the white coats, the general aura that these people know what they're doing. And in another is just fine and dandy thankyou - it's great to be able to see the footage already without crossing your fingers that you'll be told everything's alright the next day.
