Charlie Productions : Make-Up & Hair
Make-Up and Hair is not just about making the actors look pretty or injured or dying or dead. Or a zombie. Having decided upon how each actor should look, they then have to look after their continuity, making sure they look the same in every shot. On Death Of The Revolution Isabel had fun making sure that Alistair's hair always stood up at the back as if he had slept on it.
They are almost always women (we've worked with only one guy, Louie, and if he's anything to go by there should be more) and they almost always take a shine to the Gaffer or the Sparks. Perhaps because they're the only real men in a world of ponce. As they spend almost more time with the actors than the directors, they have a key role in making sure the actor feels at ease with themselves, so the sunny disposition of most is almost a pre-requisite for the job. Fortunately for us our Make-Up teams have always done an absolutely sterling job.
Charlie Productions believe passionately in doing things and always trying to stop in
time for tea.
