Charlie Productions : Production AssistantWe tend not to use the label "runner" and technically there is a difference between the two, but essentially what you're looking at here is someone who is willing to do everything that nobody else has the time or the will to do. They make the tea, the notes, the lunch, drive or run off to get that special something the director forgot or that the actor wants. General dogsbody. An easy job to dismiss, and yet so vital, so essential to the film-making process. We have nearly always had some production assistants with us and we've had good and bad and it takes a special someone to be outstanding. Likely to be the first on the set to guide the vehicles in place and the last to leave thanks to being in charge of sweeping up, this is an entry-level job which takes such a huge amount of motivation that the best get paid £250 a day. They are always needed and always much-appreciated on our sets. Charlie Productions believe passionately in doing things and always trying to stop in time for tea.
