Charlie Productions : Special Effects

By virtue of their naming, Special Effects are the ones that are, y'know, a bit special. Stuff that takes a certain amount of something for it to happen.

And that certain something tends to be money. We've never blown anything up in a film, we've never had a stunt man on one of our films. We've never done a car chase. We've not even really had any guns. Our shorts have tended not to go near those movie staples.

And yet we've had more than our fair share of magical things happening, and in the past we've just had to figure out how to do that ourselves. How can we push someone under a tube train? (We won't be doing it like that again.) How can we push someone off a bridge? (We won't be doing it like that again.) How can we make a panda talk? (yes, yes, yes...)

Actually, no. There are many improvements we can make to the way we got Panda to talk, but the process and the people doing the work were bloody brilliant, and the fx work in Hallo Panda is by far the best in any of our films, and that's because they were being done by people who knew what they were doing, rather than us trying to bodge it.

Charlie Productions believe passionately in doing things and always trying to stop in time for tea.
