Charlie Productions : Foley Artist
Jack Foley is George Clooney's character in the classic 'Out Of Sight'. Which is a name inspired by the inspiration for the name for this particular profession. That's right, the original Jack Foley was so damn good at his job, they named the job after him. People sometimes say a film is "Hitchockian" (twisted and all about a blonde lady, a blonde lady actress, a blonde, a blonde...) or "Kubrickian" (verrry long and observatory) or "MichaelBayian" (BANG!), but the director is still the director. Although we can but live in hope that one day all directors will be known as Blaines.
Anyway, the Foley Artist gets to have a fun job, alright. Coming up with the sounds to fit the actions onscreen, usually with apparatus that in no way resemble what is being used onscreen. It's one of the joys of life to come up with sound effects for things that happen in front of us - I distinctly remember at least half all my childhood conversations revolving around something sounding like "Wooosshhh" or "Bonnnggg" or whatever - so to get paid for it must be a very heaven.
Although I wonder if Foley Artists ever get tired of the job. Like a Gynaecologist going off sex, I wonder if they sit at home, unable to sleep, thanks to the sound of people walking drunkenly home late at night.
Clomp, Clomp, Clomp, Shfffshh CLANG.

"Please, I say, would you mind awfully, it's three o'clock in the morning and it really should go Clomp, Clomp, Clomp, Clomp, Clomp, Clomp, Tonnnng Tonnnng BANNG Arse!. Please. Give it a go. Go on. GO ON. GO ON!!"
