Charlie Productions : Phil Cleare

When we we're going to film "Good Morning, Who Are You?" it was obvious that we'd need a sound man. Naturally we would have gone for Keith Malin because he's good with that sort of thing. However at the time we'd had a big falling out and so we needed an alternative. At the time Ben was a regular at the Duke of Lancaster in Barnet, largely because of the number of live bands that they put on, most of which were engineered by Phil. Phil also worked in a music shop and so seemed like the perfect choice.

Since then Phil has actually worked on pretty much everything we've done. Phil is a hero of the highest order. He doesn't say much (usually nothing more than "I couldn't really hear any of that" and "I'll have a pint") but is always willing to get cold, hungry and climb up dangerous things in order to record a bunch of brittle darlings spouting nonsense. Phil also has a band and plays guitar (but I think they need a drummer) and is now a record producer.

The Duke of Lancaster no longer has live bands. In fact it is now no longer a pub and just sits gloomily by the side of New Barnet train station all boarded up and deserted.
