Charlie Productions : Friends"Round Here We Don't Have Competition We Have Compilation"This is actually a quote from Caffy St.Luce, a music promoter featured in our documentary "Rocklands" , however we hope it applies to pretty much everything we do. We are self taught filmmakers who have learnt our craft through years of mistakes, flukes and a lot of hard work. All of which has left us passionate in our support of other filmmakers and British film culture. We have mentored and produced first films from other directors including Alex Turner's RTS Student Award nominated animation, "City Spirit" . In 2004, Ben put on a showcase of short films made by members of Shooting People , the UK's leading community of independent filmmakers. This was such a success that, with Adam Brown , we then took the films on the road as a mobile cinema, a tour which has connected us with filmmakers and audiences up and down the country. The only thing that constantly angers us is the way in which so often filmmakers in this country seem to have the attitude that it is them against the world, or them against the rest of us. We have met some fantastic filmmakers and we're proud to say that they make our work better and we hope that we do the same for them.
