15.12.0948Hr Film Challenge Needs Your Vote
As you can see from the new shiny photo on our homepage we now have proof that we made a film over in Jersey... not that any of you thought any different, I'm sure. All the films created by the five groups on the 48Hr Film Challenge are up for your viewing pleasure and at the mercy of your voting digits. The Lovely folk at miShorts are hosting all the films so pop on over and have a gander at what films emerged from the random picking of titles and genres from a hat. And a Jersey cow. For more information on the individual films and to see who was involved pop along to Ben's Blog where he has all the information. Good day.

A little reaction to BAFTA Rocliffe...
Ben has blogged about the experience and we've already had some interest arising from the reading - from production companies and also the excellent Doghouse Blog...

Revolution Picks Up In York
"Death Of The Revolution" has been seen scurrying around the outskirts of Helmsley, York. Sightings have been confirmed and we hear through the talky post that it's going to be starting the uprise on 16th October at Helmsley Arts Centre. The Lovely Folk up there are putting on an evening of short films called, "Brief Encounters" (including a showing of a classic pre 1950s short) and are welcoming anyone around that area to go forth and watch with them. They've got lots going on there and more important the proceeds will be going towards funding the Helmsley Arts Centre and the new digital filmmaking group. Dig deep people, watch some short films and support the future generations of filmmakers. Details for more info: 01439 771700 ...STAMPEDE!

I "Tell" You What... She's A Winner!
After cowering in wind-battered tents and making short films in an intense shorter amount of time (more of that later) we're all back and recovering from the Branchage Film Festival over in Jersey. And not only are we back with tales to tell but one maHOOsive story that scoops the lot of them... Laura Brocken's, "Tell" won the accolade 'Islander Award' and was handed a £2000 cheque as well as a fancy trophy too. Now THAT is flip-flopping fantastic and we're well chuffed for Laura. It's a cracking film and we felt exceptionally warm and gooey to be able to watch her waltz across the stage and collect her well deserved goodies. Nice one Laura!

Bumbershoot, "Tell", Yeah?
Laura Brocken's short film, "Tell" is taking another flight of fancy overseas to be part of the fantastic all encompassing Bumbershoot Festival 2009. "Tell" will be screened in conjunction with the Seattle International Film Festival on September 6th at 8pm. What makes it even more special is that we'll be representing the UK alongside "Gone Fishing" and Guerilla Handbook musketeer Chris Jones. These two Lovely People will make up part of the series entitled, The Meaning of Life. I say they deserve a bloody large round of applause... after three, one, two, three.....!

"Tell" Cuts Up Tregor A Treat!
Okay that was my naff attempt at putting editing lingo into the headline. Obviously you can tell it didn't work. (I'll stop don't worry.) But the important thing to take away from this is that "Tell" won the award for Best Editing and we are extremely chufferood! Well done to Laura, the Lovely Lady what went and gone done this film and Chris who gone did done help her. The Tregor Film Festival were happy to present them with the award because it was great and we're inclined to agree with gusto. Three cheers wherever you may be. Hip! hip! ....

Underground Book Review Does A Little Blog
Our nifty idea of reviewing books based on what little snippets you can grasp whilst on public transport has gone all modern and got itself a blog. We're over here at our humble abode courtesy of wordpress. Why not come on over and have a gander whilst supping some lovely tea and chomping on a cream bun?* We cannot promise to unearth the world's hidden treasures but we can inform you of what literature people seem to read on our (un)reliable public transport worldwide be it bus/tube/train/hot air balloon**. We're after people to provide some reviews so please send them in to Underground Book Review. Your thoughts are most welcome as well as your compliments and not forgetting the endearing look you give me when I've done something right (just before you find out it's at your expense - it's a two way thing right?). Come, join us and muse. It's a bit lonely when you do it by yourself (which goes for most things... except for the Bayeux Tapestry, why that's just tedious).
*Tea and buns not provided, please purchase at your own risk.
**This only applies to Richard Branson.

Revolution Starting in Italy
"Death Of The Revolution" is on a bit of an understated roll at the moment, eeking its way into festivals and starting riots all over the shop (aka World). It's presently gearing up to educate the masses in Bergamo as part of the Festival Internazionale del Cinema d'Arte on 20th July at 9:15pm. If you're situated around there please go shout and holler at the right bits and throw your fists up in announcement of the Revolution. If you're not put the kettle on, remember to bring the cat in and think how wonderful a film this is then tell us. It's all about moderation and the way this Revolution is gaining momentum it's hard to say when the eventual topple of the over-riding powers that be will happen. When we have our sources in place and a secure line we'll be sure to let you know. Over.

Revolution Overthrows Canada
The children of the Revolution arose, spoke, threw down their jam sandwiches and stunned the judges at the Canada International Film Festival. And with that they put their toys back in their pram and waltzed away with the tag of Winner. These kids seem to be on a worldwide mission to spread the message of "Death Of The Revolution" and there's no stopping them. They truly are the Revolution the world needs and what better than having kids lead the way... they're wonderful and know how to play.

Blaine Brothers Named As Quarterfinalists
Yessums indeed! The Blaines' new opus that you've either heard about or didn't know has reached the quarterfinals in the Bluecat Screenplay Competition this year. The new project has had the boys tinkering away for a good long while and looks like their hard work is paying off. This is the first feature the boys have penned and I hope everyone is wishing them luck for it, if not why? Are you a bad person? No? Good, we can be friends. Did someone just say yes? Then get out of here, no one wants a bad person hanging around, you are officially banned from The Internet. You're sorry? Good, we can now be friends. Fingers crossed people (even you) and here's to wishing and wanting the Blaines to do extremely well because they too are good people. The sun is shining when I wrote this which means it gave that last sentence brilliant blinding gravitas. Take that as a factoid.

Panda-Tell, France To Watch
A somewhat sounding cryptic heading but in short "Hallo Panda" and "Tell" will be making a joint appearance at the Tregor Film Festival in France. We would like to release a statement to reiterate the two are not romantically linked in any way, they are just good friends. Any further questions then please refer to the latest edition of any glossy mag. (You won't find them in there, it'll just distract your mind from working for a short while). "Hallo Panda" will be playing Friday July 3rd at 6pm and "Tell" will also be entertaining on Sunday July 5th at 6pm. If you fancy popping along I hear France is a lovely place this time of year. And it'll be full of filmmakers so you can quaff wine, laugh a lot and chat to some equally (if not more) lovely people. Tres bon!

Hallo Panda Strikes Again (with the furry claw)
Fond freedom lover, "Hallo Panda" is to be aired on S4C this coming Sunday (the 17th for those who are too lazy to work that out) at the rather poignant time of 3:50am. We'd love it if you fancied staying up (or getting up) to watch it. This panda has some tricks that ought not to be missed. And it's on the Welsh Channel 4. New territory and a new audience. Furry high fives all round!
12.05.09We're Leaders of the Free (Speech) Short Film World
For those of you in the know we're in the running as part of the Very Short Movies online competition and we've just been informed that we're leading the UK Finalists into the spotlight! It's all a front for us to take over the world with our creative minds, but to all the folks that aren't part of that elaborate plan (yet) it means that we're ace. And fully representing the United Kingdom along with Danny Dyer and Jacqueline Oceane (whose technically Australian but beautiful and speaks English so she can represent beside us). We're taking over the world bit by bit and who would have thought we'd need just a bathtub? (and some people and some camera crew and some money and some hard work and some lack of sleep and some other things...)
05.05.09 Tell Your Friends...
Laura Brocken, an extremely talented lady made a film as part of the Branchage Boot Camp in 2008 whilst being mentored by our fuzzy bearded lovely Chris Blaine. The result was, "Tell" and we've taken it upon ourselves to spread the word and get people seeing this brilliant film. And to announce this good news we can only follow it with a mound of equally pleasing good news... "Tell" 3 Minute Film Festival in San Francisco. Ooooh, hark at her!
10.04.09 Free Speech In The Running
Hallo you lovely, lovely and incredibly adorable people! Easter is upon us and instead of a chocolate egg representing a man who went away and came back again with his hair the same length as if it were magic we have a nomination! In a film festival which is based on online voting, like some cruel approach to measuring your attractiveness or popularity, we are calling on our good friends who find us either attractive, popular or neither to vote for our short "Free Speech" and show the American bigwigs that we do comedy better than them*. We were shortlisted in this bizarrely set up festival which means we got through in their 3rd Quarter which spanned July/August/Sept last year. We're now all thrown together in this big electronic pot to see whose the leading contender in all the different catagories. So GO US! We're in the Comedy section. Whoop! Whoop! And all that ja-z-z.
The process to help us out is to go to this very website This should take you directly to the page where our film is. You'll then have to register to place your vote or indeed watch the film itself. I know this may sound like an adruous task but you need not worry... it's FREE. You'll get to watch lots of short films online for free in good quality AND vote for them (obviously you vote for our film in the comedy section, it goes without saying). Then that's it, you're done! Give yourself a pat on the back, punch the air with mock jubilation and sup that tea like a goodun'. Much love and many Easter related hailings,
BiNGO and The Blaines
xxx
*For any Americans reading this please subsitute the word American for British, it's only fair to give everyone equal footing... unless you're being judged on an online film festival where votes count.
24.03.09 Blaine Brothers Expand Repertoire To Teaching Religious Studies
A long time ago when man and beast roamed hand in hand the Blaine Brothers crafted some handy films to teach the world about the good book, The Bible. For years The Bible According To Charlie has sat in the catacombs of Charlie Head Quarters but now the dust has been rinsed off and musty smell of nostalgia is running thick through our nostrils. It's been sliced into edible and audible chunks for you to delight in and posted on our YouTube channel, here. Why not have a gander and see what the brothers and their friends looked like all those years ago (here's a hint, Ben's still the taller one and Chris is still the excitable bundle of energy, bless).
25.02.09 (continued...) Blaines Orgy Reaches Stratospheric Heights!
"Hallo Panda" will indeed be cruising near the Nile soaking in the sun and waxing his furry chest whilst he promotes the film to the Egyptian masses and he'll also be joined by two good looking people in a bath tub and a revolution of kids. "Death Of The Revolution" and "Free Speech" will also be delighting the bemused folk of Egypt. It seems that just like David Hasslehoff is a sure hit in Germany, the Blaines seem to float the Egyptians' boats. You best make that a few drinks to raise...
25.02.09 Hot and Sweaty Sweaty Near The Nile
"Hallo Panda" will be cruising near the Nile soaking in the sun and waxing his furry chest whilst he promotes the film to the Egyptian masses. (This will make a pleasant change from the chilly climbs of England.) Amritsa are holding the exotically named International Film Festival Egypt 2009 between the dates of April 5th and 10th at the "wonderful and unique", El Sawy Cultre Centre, Zamalek, Cairo which rests right next to the Nile. Panda will be hobnobbing with the Egyptian folk and sticking his paw in to conversations of great grandeur and generally drinking too much peach schnapps. Let's raise a glass to that! Hip hip, hooray! (and let's hope he doesn't sabotage the keys like he usually does when he's had too much, he thinks he's some kinda Tom Waits but sounds more like a drunk Jimmy Nail.)
23.01.09 Revolution? Revolution? Now where is that Revolution...?
Festival favourite once again,"Death Of The Revolution" is to take part in yet another Canadian escapade at The Canada Film Festival on February 8th. The film will be running around trying to keep warm alongside another British film and many Canadians with an Italian thrown in for good measure. If you fancy heading to watch some good short films then head down to there and you'll be in for a treat. Two screenings of "Death Of The Revolution" in Canada within days of each other... whatever will we tell the authorities, people will begin to talk.
22.01.09 Waking The Revolution
Festival favourite,"Death Of The Revolution" is to take part in The Victoria Film Festival over in very chilly Canada. So for our overseas followers it's being held on the 3rd February and it's being screened in line with some other equally as riveting shorts in a bundle that lasts about 81mins called, "Short: Love! Art! Revolution!" We think that we cover all three but probably more so the last one... All that for only $7 which is just eight pennies over £5 in Angleterre monies. This starts our new year off with a short sharp punch in the air and as soon as we know of more screenings then you'll be the first to know. Each and every one of you. Including you... maybe.
Read old hat news here from 2008, y'know time travel and what not. No really, read the old news...
